From our previous article you would have known about Domain Name System (DNS). It is a naming system for computers, services, or any resource connected to the Internet. It turns a user-friendly domain name like “slashsquare.org” into an Internet Protocol (IP) address like 30.67.327.78. Computers use this kind of address to identify each other on the network. Learn how to convert domain to IP address easily.
Steps To Convert Domain To IP Address
1. Open “Command Prompt” [Type cmd in the Windows Run Box].
2. Type NSLOOKUP domainname.com
For example, NSLOOKUP slashsquare.org
And press Enter.
The corresponding IP address displayed as 207.7.90.59
You can see the original domain name and respective IP Address of that domain name.
You can also use online tools to convert domain to IP address. I can’t think of any real ‘good’ use of this tip, but it can be helpful when you are connecting to your FTP server and other stuffs.
