How to Point Namecheap Domain Name to HostGator Hosting

Point Namecheap Domain Name To HostGator

Namecheap is one of the top and cheapest domain name registrars. If you’ve registered your domain name from Namecheap, you’ve taken the right decision. I use and recommend Namecheap for registering a domain name.

But when it comes to web hosting, I don’t recommend Namecheap. It’s always a good idea to buy hosting from top hosting providers like HostGator.

Yes, it’s possible to host Namecheap domain name on HostGator. Infect, I recommend buying domain and web hosting separately. It’s good for security. It also makes transferring host account easier. And you can save some money. Host providers usually charge more money than domain registrar while renewing.

In this post, I will show you how to point Namecheap domain name to HostGator.

Connecting Namecheap domain name to HostGator is very easy. Just follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Sign Up for HostGator

If you already own a HostGator hosting account, you can skip this step.

Otherwise, you need to buy a hosting package from HostGator. HostGator offers different types of hosts like Shared hosting, WordPress hosting, Cloud hosting, VPS hosting etc. Shared hosting is the best plan to get started with. You can upgrade your hosting account whenever you want to do. So I’d recommend you to start with shared hosting and change the hosting later when needed. It will save money of you.

HostGator Shared Hosting offers 3 plans – Hatchling, Baby and Business. The only difference between Hatchling and Baby plan is, Hatchling plan allows you host single domain where you can host unlimited domains on Baby plan.

I prefer Baby plan as it offers unlimited domains hosting.

However, you can get started with HostGator for only $0.01!. Just use the coupon code HL1CENTHOSTING and get the first month hosting for only one cent. If you want to buy hosting for a longer period then use this Coupon code  HL25OFFHOSTING to get 25% discount.
